Kunama 1977

The King

Have you seen the chestnut stallion
Rounding up his mares
Trying to keep the tiny colts
From the claws of the prowling wolves?

He was born up on the reanges
Raised by a knowing dam
Taught courage and love and how to care
For all his sorrel offspring

He believed in his ability to raise
And teach his children loyalty
So was placed in the necessary and superior
Position of god in the eyes of his herd.
